Coaching

Greenwich Sports Club prides itself on providing excellent football coaching to all members. Our junior teams are typically coached by parent volunteers and our men’s and women’s teams are fortunate to have a roster of coaches available. All coaches are supported by the club’s volunteer Director of Coaching. Many coaches have achieved various levels of licensing with the NSFA. We aim to ensure that our parent coaches have the relevant Working with Children Clearance and access to the relevant courses to facilitate the coaching effort.

Coaching Courses

Certified/licensed coaches have access to materials provided by the NSFA that can greatly assist with running training programs. Greenwich will reimburse parents who wish to attend coaching certification/license courses with the NSFA. Coaching course dates are typically posted on our calendar or you may visit the NSFA website. Please contact our Director of Coaching for more information.

Coaching Resources

The NSFA provides rules, regulations and manuals that contain useful information about the various competitions. All coaches should be familiar with the applicable resources for their competition and be registered with the Inspire coaching program to access the resources. Click here to go to the NSFA website. A summary of the MiniRoos playing rules and formats can be found by clicking here.

The Club is pleased to provide more coaching materials to assist coaches, managers and players via our new web site. This should enable coaches and managers to get more out of the season through greater coaching resources and structures to follow.

The Football Federation Australia (FFA) devised a new Coaching curriculum a few years ago which provides coaching best practices and training programmes for players of all ages. It is Greenwich Sports Club's aim to leverage this best practice content where possible.
