Working with Children Checks, Member Protection Declaration and FFA Registration for managers, coaches and umpires

Football

A Working with Children Check (WWC) number is needed for all football coaches, managers and referees (assistants included) who are 18 years and over, paid or volunteer, prior to commencement of their roles.

It does not matter if you are assisting your own child’s team in some way, a WWC is still required.

If you are under 18 you do not need a number.

To get a WWC you apply online at http://www.kidsguardian.nsw.gov.au. You will be issued with an application number staring with APP. You then take this number and your driver’s licence or other photo identification to a NSW Service Centre in order to get your WWC number. It is free to apply.

WWC numbers last for five years, and then you must renew.

If you can’t remember if you have a WWC number, you can go to http://www.kidsguardian.nsw.gov.au/check.

All volunteers (including those under 18, and over 16) need to register on the FFA website and complete a Member Protection Declaration prior to commencement of their roles. Those over 18 will need to provide their WWC number as well.

Please ensure your managers have your WWC number. The managers can then provide the numbers to the Member Protection Information Officer at MPIO@greenwichsportsclub.com.au
